FAQ

Monterey’s Golden State Theatre is located at 417 Alvarado St, Monterey, CA 93940, right in the heart of Downtown Monterey.

There are many amazing hotels within walking distance.

The theatre has a full bar as well as some light snacks. The bar is open early for theatre members. There are lots of delicious restaurants within walking distance of the venue. We recommend Sushi Fly right next door and Epsilon around the back of the theatre.

The GOLDEN STATE THEATRE makes every effort to accommodate the needs of our diverse patrons. If you have special needs, please let us know so we can ensure accommodations are available. Typically, these services can include interpreters for the deaf and access in getting around the Theatre for those with limited mobility.

For those who need sign language interpreters, we need to know in advance to make the arrangements; alternatively, we’ll be glad to work with you to get your usual interpreter access. We would need at least three weeks advance notice to accommodate.

At load-in our hospitality manager checks in with the band’s tour manager to find out what the band’s policy on photography is. Our entire security and door staff is notified of this policy so that they may enforce it. Some bands say absolutely no cameras while others say cameras are okay, just no flash photography. We suggest that you ask the door staff upon entering the venue as to whether or not you may take pictures.
