Golden State Theatre History

In 1926, a 15,000 square-foot Moorish castle rose on Alvarado Street, to the amazement of locals and visitors alike. A new cinema and live performance venue to rival those in California's largest cities, the Golden State Theatre was the definition of an opulent movie palace. After decades of deterioration, it has been faithfully restored to its former glory, featuring an Old World grand lobby and mezzanine, one thousand plush velvet seats, state-of-the-art sound, and the indefinable magic of a truly historic setting. B.B. King, Willie Nelson, The Smothers Brothers — these are just some of the names that have recently graced the stage, contributing to the Theatre's new legacy since its renovation and exciting revival. Attend a world-class concert or film festival at the Golden State Theatre, or host your own special event here, and become part of its new chapter of history.

The Golden State Theatre is co-owned by husband and wife team Eric Lochtefeld and Lori Lochtefeld along with a team of industry professionals from across the country.

Lori Lochtefeld is the co-owner of the Golden State Theatre and Fox Theatre Property. She was born and raised in San Francisco. She started her career in the financial services industry as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley before joining Merrill Lynch. In 2007 she decided to leave the financial services world behind, launching a commercial insurance company called Lacewell Insurance Agency. In 2008 she realized that there was a great need to provide real estate services to her clients, so she launched Lacewell Realty Inc. Currently, she is a one stop shop for commercial and real estate services. Lori graduated from USC, and reminds Eric every day of her schools dominance over his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
